Rebecca Pope, P.h.D, M.M.Q
Sutter Center for Integrative Health

Rebecca Pope is a certified Medical Qigong therapist and holds the title of Master of Medical Qigong. She offers classes and individual sessions in both Qigong and Tai Chi.
The practice of Qigong harmonizes breath, visualization, and slow, gentle movement to help achieve greater feelings of balance, relaxation, and well-being while promoting healing. It relieves stress, can jump start the body's own capacity for self-healing, and can serve as an excellent adjunct to Western medical care. Medical Qigong, the most ancient branch of Chinese medicine, can be used to prevent illness, improve general health, relieve stress, and address specific physical and emotional concerns. A routine of Qigong exercises and meditations can be tailored for individual needs and health problems.
Pope also teaches Tai Chi for health and stress reduction, including Tai Chi for Arthritis, which has been endorsed by the Arthritis Foundations of the United States.
A practitioner of Qigong and Tai Chi for two decades, Pope completed her Medical Qigong training through the International Institute of Medical Qigong, Siskr School of Henan University of Traditional Medicine in China. She was also named Master of Qigon and Tai Chi for Wellness by Grandmaster Jianye Jiang. Formerly an English professor, she holds an M.Phil. from Oxford and Ph.D. from The University of Chicago. A published author, she enjoys reading, writing, biking, and swimming. She studies Chinese nutrition therapy and is especially interested in the environmental factors of wellness, including eating local, organic food; reducing clutter; and using non-toxic cleaners and personal care products.
This practitioner specializes in Qigong and Tai Chi and teaches Qigong for Healthy Blood Pressure.
